![]() John Comerford is a writer and producer of independent film and media. Currently, he is producing a documentary on the future of the jazz artform entitled Icons Among Us: jazz in the present tense. His current feature projects include The Wild, a supernatural thriller spun out of the mythologies of the Pacific Northwest. Mr. Comerford co-wrote and co-produced the award-winning Around The Fire which has fared well in foreign and domestic distribution. The picture is a music-driven drama, centered on issues of adolescence. Mr. Comerford was involved in all aspects of the production of Around the Fire, from the scripting and the casting to the actual shooting and editing of the material to marketing and distribution of the picture. Distributors and exhibitors of Around The Fire have included Showtime, Starz/Encore, Hollywood Video, Cannes Film Market, Seattle International Film Festival, South By Southwest Film Festival, EuroArts and others. Mr. Comerford is President of PARADIGM STUDIO, a film and television production company in Seattle, Washington. Paradigm Studio has worked on numerous corporate and non-profit video and audio production projects, including: documentation and creation of marketing materials for Museum Associates' collection of fine crystals and artifacts; documentary work with the Rainforest Alliance Information Network (RAIN) during the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro and production of Faces of Change, a documentary of the conference; and production of Sema of Peace for the Mevlevi Order of America, a documentary of a classical Dervish ceremony. Mr. Comerford is involved in the dynamic music community of Seattle and is a boardmember of LIQUID CITY RECORDS. He has executive produced two avant-garde jazz albums -- the Living Daylights third album, Electric Rosary (Four out of five stars, Downbeat Magazine), and Zony Mash's Live in Seattle -- as well as a number of other recordings including Jovino Santos Neto's Coboclo and the Scott Law Band's 2002 and 2005 releases Mr. Comerford attended The University of Colorado at Boulder and graduated with a double major in psychology and film studies. He went on to attend the National Broadcasting School and received an advanced technical degree, graduating with valedictorian honors. Community involvement is also an important element of Mr. Comerford's work. He is an Officer of the Rainforest Alliance Information Network (RAIN), a Seattle-based 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to environmental education. Mr. Comerford serves as a judge for the Washington State Screenplay Competition and was named to the Washington State Film Task Force. He has served as a judge for the Independent Feature Project's Spotlight Award and currently serves as Vice President of the Seattle International Film Festival Group. Additionally Mr. Comerford is Secretary of the newly formed Washington Entertainment Industry Players Association (WEIPA). ![]() With a background in writing, psychology, communications and media studies, Mr. Dahlia's talents come into play in many of Paradigm's endeavors. He served as Post Production Coordinator for John Comerford and Tommy Rosen's freshman feature film, Around The Fire. During the shooting of Around The Fire in the San Francisco Bay Area, Mr. Dahlia remained in Seattle managing Paradigm and working on Hidden Medicines, a documentary of alternative care practitioners and their clients in Washington State. Mr. Dahlia has worked on behalf of numerous local politicians such as Seattle City Council member Nick Licata and past council member Judy Nicastro. He has experience producing benefit events for campaigns and organizations, and has focused on bringing young people into the local political community. B Dahlia co-founded WHIRLED RECORDS, which has since become LIQUID CITY RECORDS, with producer Chris Chappell, and co-produced the label's first commercial release. He has continued to be an active participant in the evolving music scene in Seattle, advising local clubs and working with artists like Jessica Lurie of the Living Daylights. Mr. Dahlia can also be found performing voice and spoken word on occasion in various Seattle locals. Mr. Dahlia attended Seattle Central Community College, University of California at Berkeley, and Antioch University Seattle, where he completed his degree in Psychology and Communications. He recently finished Explorer Search and Rescue Basic Training and is a certified rescue volunteer in Washington State.
LANCE SETH ROSEN has a broad range of experience with companies and individuals active in the development, production and delivery of arts, entertainment and information, in all formats and media. He is widely considered the Northwest's leading entertainment industry attorney. Mr. Rosen's clients have included Northwest and California based motion picture and television studios, production companies, recording studios, music labels, television stations, foundations, museums, software companies, game creators, performing artists, visual artists, screenwriters, journalists, athletes, TV and radio personalities, authors, publishers, agents, and investors. Mr. Rosen began his legal career with the Proskauer, Rose law firm in Los Angeles. He has served of counsel to the firms of Davis Wright Tremaine and Garvey Schubert Barer, and is now a partner at Rosen, Lewis PLLC. Mr. Rosen was Vice President for Creative and Business Affairs for Clear Blue Sky Productions, and was Senior Advisor to Experience Music Project. He was also founder and President of Dapple Gray Productions, Inc., a screenplay development company under contract to The Disney Channel, and prior to that served as Director of Business and Legal Affairs for The Disney Channel, at its headquarters in Burbank. Prior to becoming a lawyer Mr. Rosen was a professional actor with many television, film and stage credits. He co-founded two theatre companies, in Omaha and Santa Cruz, where he also produced and directed plays. Mr. Rosen has served as Adjunct Professor of Law at Seattle University Law School, where he has taught Entertainment Law and Copyright Law. He is a frequent guest speaker on the media and entertainment industries including presentations and panels at national and regional conventions, CLE courses, colleges, schools, artist organizations, union events, and professional associations. He has served as a judge for the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), the Washington State Screenplay Competition, and IFP/Seattle's Spotlight Award. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for SIFF and for The Film Connection. He is Vice President and a founding member of the Washington State Entertainment Industry Players Association, a professional trade association. Mr. Rosen has a B.A. from Antioch College in Ohio, a M.S. in education from Bank Street College in New York and a J.D. from UCLA.
